The Northern BC Tourism Association recently spoke at a Mind Your Business luncheon hosted by the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce.

They highlighted the support available to local businesses through the Northern BC Tourism Resiliency Program. Presenter Jennifer Moore talked about funding opportunities, advisory services, and practical tools that help tourism operators recover and grow. Real-world examples demonstrated how the program strengthens tourism businesses and supports sustainable economic growth in Northern British Columbia.

The presentation also emphasized the economic impact of tourism, noting that visitor spending in Northern BC reaches over $1 billion annually, supporting accommodation, food services, transportation, and recreation sectors. Data shared showed that domestic travel remains the largest source of visitors, with over 1.5 million visitors recorded in Northern BC in 2025 to date.

The event highlighted tourism’s ongoing role in supporting local economies and communities like Chetwynd.
